I am a poet, author, and creative millennial wife and mom of two who is finally stepping into the light and accepting who I am, a woman with gifts and power. Before starting this blog, I tried to separate each topic and choose a niche in a way that would position me as an authority. But here’s the thing, I’m not one. I am a learner. A student. And from this blog, you will get transparent experiences and humble advice from someone who is doing life to the best of their ability. I am breaking generational curses, and unhealthy habits and learning it’s okay to not only live but thrive and do it all in Jesus’ name. So no, you won’t hear about just one thing from me.

Sown in the Light
Sown in Light is a captivating collection of poems, stories and experiences told from the point of view of a young, black girl who grew up in a conservative Christian home. Each poem in this book is a snapshot of a significant moment in my life that paved the way for my spiritual journey. The struggle I describe is not new but true to the experience of those who grew up in religious households. To truly express this work, the book is divided into 3 parts: The Seeds, The Weeds, and The Tree. These sections describe the nurturing in my youth, the struggle in my heart, and the blooming of my faith. It is heartwarming in its authenticity and captivating in its transparency.
